Congress provides a transport service for clients residing within
the town area. The service is extended to clients seeking treatment
at Congress and those who have a medical appointment at the hospital.
Transport for clients can be arranged by telephoning Clinic Reception
on the above numbers.
The Clinic sees approximately 70 100 patients every day.

Congress Alukura Womens Health
& Birthing Centre
Alukura is located at Percy Crt, 7km south of town through the
Gap. Alukura is housed in purpose-built premises and provides
womens obstetric and gynaecological primary health care
services incorporating Aboriginal womens law, culture and
language.
The main function of Alukura is to provide a womens health
and birthing centre for Aboriginal in a safe and culturally appropriate
environment. Alukura provides;

Alukura is open from 8.30am 5.00pm all week, apart from

The Social & Emotional Wellbeing Branch provides counselling
and support to Aboriginal people and families who may be experiencing
depression, anger, loss and grief, drug & alcohol problems,
domestic violence or other problems causing difficulty in their
lives.
Counselling and support is provided to individuals, families and
couples and can be arranged through inter-agency referral, over
the phone or by dropping in.
An Aboriginal manager, counsellors, liaison workers, psychologists
and youth workers staff the service.
