Congress provides a transport service for clients residing within the town area. The service is extended to clients seeking treatment at Congress and those who have a medical appointment at the hospital.

Transport for clients can be arranged by telephoning Clinic Reception on the above numbers.
The Clinic sees approximately 70 – 100 patients every day.

Clinic Hours:
Monday to Friday 9.00am to 8.00pm
After Hours On-call times 8.00pm to 10.30pm
Weekends & Public holidays 9.00am to 12.30pm

Congress Alukura Women’s Health & Birthing Centre
Alukura is located at Percy Crt, 7km south of town through the Gap. Alukura is housed in purpose-built premises and provides women’s obstetric and gynaecological primary health care services incorporating Aboriginal women’s law, culture and language.

The main function of Alukura is to provide a women’s health and birthing centre for Aboriginal in a safe and culturally appropriate environment. Alukura provides;
ð Antenatal care/education
ð Postnatal care/education
ð Birthing
ð Well women’s checks,
ð Young Women’s Community Education Program for young women (12 to 20years)
ð Bush mobile to communities

Alukura is open from 8.30am – 5.00pm all week, apart from Tuesday afternoon.
Aboriginal Health Workers, Midwives, Doctors and Community Liaison Officer staff the Clinic.
Clinic Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm (closed for lunch from 12.30pm to 1.30pm)

Social & Emotional Well-Being– Tel: 8953 89 88
The Social & Emotional Wellbeing Branch provides counselling and support to Aboriginal people and families who may be experiencing depression, anger, loss and grief, drug & alcohol problems, domestic violence or other problems causing difficulty in their lives.

Counselling and support is provided to individuals, families and couples and can be arranged through inter-agency referral, over the phone or by dropping in.

An Aboriginal manager, counsellors, liaison workers, psychologists and youth workers staff the service.
